This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

WordPress plugin with a Babylist-style editorial hospital bag checklist page and a custom audio player widget.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.x+
  • PHP 7.4+

Installation

  1. Copy the essential-checklist-plugin folder into wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate Essential Hospital Bag Checklist under Plugins.
  3. Go to Settings → Hospital Bag Checklist and configure the audio widget (optional).
  4. Add a shortcode to any page or post.

[essential_checklist] Full checklist article + audio widget
[essential_checklist_audio] Audio player widget only

Attribute values from the shortcode override Settings → Hospital Bag Checklist.

Settings

Settings → Hospital Bag Checklist

Setting Description
Audio file URL MP3 for the player. Use Media Library to pick a file.
Logo image URL Image on the left of the audio widget.
Listen label Text above the waveform (default: Listen Now).

If audio or logo URLs are left blank, the plugin uses bundled files:

  • assets/essential.mp3
  • assets/logo.webp

Checklist page layout

  • Hero title + subtitle
  • Intro paragraphs
  • In This Article sidebar (1/4 width) with section jump links
  • Main article content (3/4 width)
  • H2 / H3 sections with permalink heading links
  • Checklist lists with optional product links
  • Default max width: 1200px

The audio widget is placed above How To Organize Your Hospital Bags via the `` placeholder in the HTML content file.

Audio widget

  • Logo, play / pause button, waveform progress, listen label
  • Elapsed time / total duration (0:00 / 5:32)
  • Click waveform to seek
  • Speed button cycles: 1x → 1.25x → 1.5x → 2x
  • Scrolls with the page (not sticky)

Use [essential_checklist_audio] to embed the player alone on any page.

Updating checklist content

Edit assets/html/hospital-checklist-content.html directly.

Development notes

  • All frontend styles are scoped under .ecl-shell.
  • Checklist HTML is loaded with file_get_contents() and cached per request.
  • Audio markup is injected by replacing `` in the HTML file.
  • CSS/JS versions use the ECL_VERSION constant (1.0.0) for cache busting.
