Install
This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.
Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:
wp plugin install https://github.com/cclintw/cc-cookies-visitor-counter/archive/refs/heads/main.zipNo built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.
CC Cookies Visitor Counter
CC Cookies Visitor Counter is a lightweight WordPress plugin that counts daily unique visitors with a first-party browser cookie UUID.
Shortcodes
- [ccvisitorcount] displays total daily visitor records.
- [ccvisitortoday] displays today's unique visitor count.
Privacy
The plugin stores:
- visitor UUID
- visit date
- visit time
It does not store IP addresses, user agent strings, referrers, or profile data.
Development Notes
The frontend script creates or reads the cccvcvisitorid cookie and records visits through admin-ajax.php.
