BSF License Debugger
Force a live license check for all BSF products and display the raw server response. Also debugs the bsf_check_product_update() cron path (bsf_get_product_versions) that writes the stored registered/not-registered status. Install on the customer site to diagnose licensing issues, then download a diagnostic report to send back to support.

Install
No release zip yet. The repository archive installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow:
wp plugin install https://github.com/brainstormforce/bsf-license-debugger/archive/refs/heads/main.zipA single-file diagnostic plugin from Brainstorm Force support. It helps diagnose cases where a BSF product license (Astra Pro, Spectra Pro, etc.) unexpectedly resets to not-registered on a site.
The entire plugin is one PHP file — bsf-license-debugger.php — so you can review exactly what it does before installing it.
What it does
- Forces a live license check against the BSF license server for every registered product, bypassing all local caches, and shows the raw server response.
- Probes (read-only) the
bsf_get_product_versionsendpoint — the one whose response is what actually writes the storedregistered / not-registeredstatus — and shows what the updater would write, without writing anything. - Flags automatically when the two endpoints disagree (license endpoint says valid, versions endpoint says not-registered) — the signature we've seen behind licenses deactivating after a failed renewal.
- Generates a downloadable plain-text diagnostic report to send back to support.
What it does NOT do
- The diagnostic report is read-only — nothing on your site is modified to produce it.
- Purchase keys are masked everywhere in the report.
- No data is sent anywhere except the same BSF license endpoints your site already talks to; the report only downloads to your browser.
Installation
- Download the latest zip from the Releases page (or Code → Download ZIP).
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the zip.
- Activate the plugin.
Usage
- Make sure your licenses are activated (the comparison is only meaningful while the site is supposed to be licensed).
- Go to Tools → BSF License Debug.
- Click Download Diagnostic Report — this can take up to ~30 seconds since it makes live requests to the license server.
- Send the downloaded
.txtfile to Brainstorm Force support.
If the license drops again later, run the report a second time right after it happens — the mismatch is only visible while the bad state is live.
After you're done
This is a debug tool — deactivate and delete it once the investigation is complete.
