Install

The author publishes release zips, so WP-CLI can install straight from GitHub:

proof-wp

WordPress plugin MVP for Proof / AuditPatterns review popups.

What it does

  • Adds a Settings → Proof Reviews admin page.
  • Stores hand-picked review data in WordPress options.
  • Displays lightweight review popups using local plugin JavaScript assets.
  • Supports sitewide enablement or page-specific loading with [proof_reviews].
  • Includes basic WordPress.org-style readme.txt and uninstall cleanup.

Local install

  1. Zip this folder or copy it to wp-content/plugins/proof-review-popups/.
  2. Activate Proof Review Popups in WordPress.
  3. Configure reviews at Settings → Proof Reviews.
  4. Enable sitewide display or add [proof_reviews] to a page.

Packaging

From the parent directory:

zip -r proof-review-popups.zip proof-wp   -x "proof-wp/.git/*"   -x "proof-wp/.DS_Store"

Notes

  • This MVP does not scrape or import third-party reviews.
  • It provides meaningful free/local functionality rather than acting as a paywalled wrapper.
  • The front-end widget source is adapted from AuditPatterns/social-proof-widget/public/widget.js.
