This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/atakanau/quick-demo-importer/archive/refs/heads/main.zip
Updates itself. It ships its own updater (Update URI header), so new versions appear under Dashboard → Updates.

Quick Demo Importer helps you apply prepared demo profiles on a normal WordPress site (not only WordPress Playground).

Each profile is driven by a config.json pipeline: an ordered list of steps.

✨ Supported Step Types

  • Themes: Install and optionally activate a theme (WordPress.org slug or ZIP URL).
  • Plugins: Install and optionally activate plugins (slug or ZIP URL).
  • Media: Import images from a profile images/ folder into the Media Library.
  • Content: Import WXR/XML content via the official WordPress Importer.
  • Setup: Apply site settings (front page, menus, site icon, logo, theme mods, options).
  • Tasks: Run profile-specific PHP tasks from tasks.php.

📋 Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0 or higher
  • PHP 8.0 or higher
  • Official WordPress Importer plugin

📦 Installation

  1. Upload the quick-demo-importer folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install the ZIP via Plugins → Add New.
  2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.
  3. Open Tools → Demo Importer.
  4. Follow the guide in USAGE.md for custom pipeline configuration.
