VAT Relief or TAX Exempt Plugin for Woocommerce. Customer can apply for VAT relief at checkout from the eligible products to get it removed.

Description

A simple and minimalist VAT relief plugin that removes the VAT or TAX from specific products at checkout. The plugin covers both scenarios of VAT Relief for:

  • Person applying for VAT relief
  • Charity applying for VAT relief

A product can be marked eligible for VAT relief in the backend, and on checkout, the customer can apply for VAT relief by filling required information to claim it and takeout VAT from the order total.

The VAT relief information of Person or Charity is stored and displayed nicely in order details page, order emails and order thankyou page.

Useful for below online shops:

  • Medical and surgical appliances
  • Wheelchairs and mobility scooters
  • Equipment to aid the hard of hearing, and low vision aids
  • Epecialist beds, chair and stair lifts, rise and recline chairs and other lifting equipment and sanitary devices
  • Goods that have been designed solely for disabled people

Installation

This section describes how to install the plugin and get it working.

  1. Upload ap-vat-exempt to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory

  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress

Frequently Asked Questions

What are requirements for this plugin to work normally?

Woocommerce plugin is installed and TAX is enabled. Atleast one standard tax class rate and zero-rate tax class setup in WooCommerce > Settings > Taxes for this to work.

Does it take different countries in account?

No, the plugin provides universal tax/vat reduction from all the eligible products. However, I have plans for it in future releases.

What product types are supported?

Simple or Parent Variable products are supported. Individual variation eligibility is not supported. I have plans for it in future releases.
