Notify store admins and customers on WhatsApp when an order is placed or its status changes.

Description

WhatsApp Order Alerts sends WhatsApp messages through the official WhatsApp Cloud API whenever a store order is created or moves to a new status.

Admins can be notified immediately when a customer places an order. Both admins and customers can be notified when an order is processing, completed, cancelled, or moved to a custom status such as Shipped.

This plugin requires WooCommerce to be installed and active.

Key Features

  • Admin WhatsApp alert on new orders
  • Admin and customer alerts on order status changes
  • Works with core statuses and custom statuses (including Shipped)
  • Official WhatsApp Cloud API integration
  • Session text messages or Meta-approved templates
  • Customizable message bodies with order placeholders
  • Default country code for local phone numbers
  • Asynchronous sending via Action Scheduler so checkout stays fast
  • Test message tool and a recent-send log
  • Compatible with WooCommerce HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage)

How it works

  1. Connect your Meta WhatsApp Cloud API phone number ID and access token
  2. Enter the admin WhatsApp number(s) that should receive alerts

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this plugin work without WooCommerce?

No. WooCommerce must be installed and active.

Do I need Meta-approved templates?

For first contact with a customer, yes. WhatsApp only allows free-form (session) text inside a 24-hour customer-care window. Use Approved template mode for reliable customer notifications.

Will custom statuses like Shipped appear?

Yes. Any status registered with WooCommerce is listed in the notification checkboxes.

Is it compatible with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)?

Yes. The plugin declares compatibility with custom order tables.

Where does the customer phone number come from?

The billing phone on the order. Set a default country code if checkout phones are stored without one.
