🎯 Vision

Give volunteer-run parents' associations a simple, self-hostable, low-maintenance tool to manage memberships and extracurricular activities without paper, spreadsheets, or fragile per-person knowledge. The plugin favours clarity for families and reliable administration for the board (xunta directiva), keeping configuration, content and secrets strictly separated.

🚀 Get Started

1. Install: download the latest release ZIP from the Releases page and upload it in WordPress → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, or clone this repo into wp-content/plugins/anpa-socios/.
2. Activate the plugin in WordPress.
3. Configure it once in Xestión ANPA → Axustes: master email, banking passphrase, admin password, socios page and current school year. This creates the database, the master account and the members page.
4. Log in on the socios page with the master email (a one-time code is emailed).

Requires WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+. No Composer install is needed on the server — runtime code has no external dependencies.

🏫 About the name (ANPA / AMPA)

This plugin is built by families from Galicia (Spain), in Galician. "ANPA" stands for Asociación de Nais, Pais e Alumnado — the Galician term for a parents' association. In the rest of Spain the equivalent is AMPA (Asociación de Madres, Padres y Alumnos). The plugin works the same for any ANPA/AMPA; the interface language follows your WordPress site language (Galician and Spanish are bundled — see Translating the plugin below).

This plugin is built to be reused by any parents' association (ANPA/AMPA). Every association-specific value — name, contact email, address, membership fee, country, province and town — is configured from Xestión ANPA → Axustes; nothing is hardcoded. 🔌 Canonical Plugin

anpa-socios is a self-contained member-management plugin. It includes the email-verification module (formerly the standalone anpa-verificacion plugin) built in, so no companion plugin is required.

🛠 Privacy & Telemetry

• No telemetry. The plugin sends no analytics or usage data anywhere.
• The only outbound request is the update check against this repository's public GitHub Releases (version metadata only) and the update download when you choose to update.
• Personal and banking data stay in your WordPress database; IBAN/NIF are stored encrypted (sealed box). Verification codes are hashed and never logged.
• Emails are sent through your own WordPress mail configuration.

🌍 Translating the plugin

The plugin's source language is Galician (msgid strings are in Galician). It ships with translations for Spanish (es_ES) and an identity file for Galician (gl_ES). WordPress loads the right .mo file based on Settings → General → Site Language.

To add a new translation:

1. Copy languages/anpa-socios.pot as languages/anpa-socios-{locale}.po (e.g. fr_FR).
2. Open the .po file with Poedit or any gettext editor and translate each msgstr from Galician to your language.
3. Compile the .mo file: in Poedit, File → Compile to MO — or run:

   wp i18n make-mo languages/

4. Generate the JS translation JSON (needed for front-end strings):

   wp i18n make-json languages/ --no-purge

5. Place the resulting .po, .mo and .json files in languages/.
6. Set Settings → General → Site Language to your locale.

To regenerate the .pot from source (after code changes):

wp i18n make-pot . languages/anpa-socios.pot --domain=anpa-socios --exclude=includes/lib/plugin-update-checker,vendor,tests
