Install

The author publishes release zips, so WP-CLI can install straight from GitHub:

wp plugin install https://github.com/amabdomo/wp-travel-plugin/releases/download/v1.1.0/travel-booking-trips.zip

Ships its own WordPress updater (Update URI header), so new versions show up under Dashboard → Updates.

Travel Booking Trips is an existing WordPress plugin continued in place. It manages travel Trip content, trip metadata, availability packages, frontend booking displays, Elementor integrations, shortcodes, and optional WooCommerce product/cart booking support.

Features

  • trip custom post type with archive support and REST API visibility.
  • Hierarchical destination taxonomy for Trip destinations.
  • Hierarchical trip_type taxonomy for types such as Adventure, Honeymoon, Family, Cultural, Luxury, and Safari.
  • Tabbed Trip Settings admin UI with left vertical tabs, tab search, custom taxonomy selectors, and repeaters.
  • Trip Details, Overview & Info, Itinerary, Date & Price, Includes/Excludes, Map & Gallery, FAQs, Extra Services, and Advanced Settings tabs.
  • Gallery uses WordPress attachment IDs with previews, drag-and-drop or arrow-key reordering, removal, and explicit ordering guidance for Elementor image tags.
  • Package-aware Date & Price rows with sale price, pax limits, available seats, and validation.
  • Elementor Trip Booking widget guarded against missing Elementor.
  • Elementor WooCommerce Side Cart widget with a native WooCommerce mini-cart drawer, fragment refresh, and accessible dialog interactions.
  • Elementor Dynamic Tags guarded against missing Dynamic Tags APIs.
  • Shortcode fallbacks for common trip sections.
  • Optional WooCommerce product sync for virtual Trip products.
  • WooCommerce cart, checkout, order item, admin, and email booking meta support through WooCommerce item meta.
  • GitHub release updater targeting the exact amAbdoMo/WP-Travel-Plugin release asset.

Installation

  1. Upload the travel-booking-trips folder to wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate Travel Booking Trips in WordPress admin.
  3. Visit Settings > Permalinks once if Trips, Destinations, or Trip Types archive URLs need refreshing.

Usage

  1. Go to Trips > Add New.
  2. Add the title, content, featured image, excerpt, Destination, Trip Type, and booking settings.
  3. Use the tabbed Trip Settings panel to add availability, itinerary, includes/excludes, gallery, map, FAQs, and extra services.
  4. Use Advanced Settings to optionally create or sync a WooCommerce product.

Elementor Widget Notes

  • Widget name: tbt_trip_booking.
  • Widget title: Trip Booking.
  • Uses the current Trip automatically on single Trip pages.
  • Supports manual Trip selection.
  • Display toggles include gallery, details, overview, itinerary, dates, includes/excludes, FAQs, map, extra services, and booking form.
  • If Elementor is inactive, Trips and backend metadata continue to work without fatal errors.

Elementor WooCommerce Side Cart

  • Widget name: tbt_woocommerce_side_cart.
  • Place it in any Elementor layout; it inherits the plugin’s global design tokens when the default/global style toggle is left on.
  • Supports per-instance labels for the trigger, drawer title, view-cart, checkout, empty-state title/description, and return action.
  • Uses Elementor’s standard icon control for every cart icon, including the Elementor icon library and SVG uploads; existing legacy media icons remain compatible.
  • The default trigger is a compact cart icon with an overlaid item-count badge and the live WooCommerce cart subtotal; it remains transparent and outline-free on hover, active, keyboard focus, and restored focus after the drawer closes. Cart-total visibility is responsive per Elementor breakpoint, and a custom text label remains available.
  • View Cart and Checkout are independently hideable. Their icons are hidden by default and can be enabled independently from Cart Content.
  • Supports slide, fade, or no drawer animation while always respecting reduced-motion preferences.
  • Renders the native WooCommerce mini-cart and uses Woo fragments, so totals and cart contents stay server-rendered and wc_price() formatted.
  • Quantity updates use WooCommerce validation; booking items remain locked to their existing quantity rules.
  • Designed for accessibility and multiple instances on the same page.

Elementor Dynamic Tags

Dynamic Tags are registered only when Elementor's Dynamic Tags API is available. Text tags include Trip Title, Duration, Age, Total Seats, and Available Seats. Image controls can use Featured Image plus at least six individually selectable Gallery Image tags; the list expands to match the largest saved Trip gallery up to 20 positions, and positions missing from a shorter gallery return no image.

Shortcodes

Each shortcode uses the current Trip by default and accepts an optional id attribute.

  • [tbt_trip_code]
  • [tbt_trip_duration]
  • [tbt_trip_overview]
  • [tbt_trip_itinerary]
  • [tbt_trip_dates]
  • [tbt_trip_includes]
  • [tbt_trip_excludes]
  • [tbt_trip_faqs]
  • [tbt_trip_gallery]
  • [tbt_trip_booking]

Example: [tbt_trip_booking id="123"]

WooCommerce Notes

  • WooCommerce is optional and fully guarded.
  • When active, Trips can auto-create or sync a linked simple virtual WooCommerce product.
  • Product price is synced from the lowest valid effective Date & Price row.
  • Booking form cart data is validated server-side before adding to cart.
  • Booking details are displayed through WooCommerce cart item data and order item meta.

GitHub Update And Release Notes

  • Plugin URI: https://github.com/amAbdoMo/WP-Travel-Plugin.
  • Update URI: https://abdom.me/plugins/travel-booking-trips/ reserves the plugin's long-term vendor identity.
  • Updater class: TBT_Updater.
  • Public releases use tags such as v1.0.0 and must attach the exact travel-booking-trips.zip asset.
  • The updater never falls back to a GitHub source archive.
  • The release workflow verifies the tag, plugin-header version, TBT_VERSION, package root, and SHA-256 checksum.

Planned Free And Premium Distribution

Travel Booking Trips remains one installed plugin with one slug and one data model. The public GitHub package is the free edition. A future premium package can be built from the same codebase and replace the free package in place, while a vendor licensing service supplies premium updates. Premium screens may remain discoverable in free mode, but premium actions must be enforced by the server-side entitlement layer once the licensed features and service endpoint are defined. No premium features are assigned or gated in the current release.
