Manage and disable updates for specific plugins or WordPress core with ease.

Description

Plugin Updates Manager is a lightweight and powerful WordPress plugin designed to give site administrators full control over their site's updates. Whether you need to pin a plugin to a specific version for compatibility or prevent WordPress core from auto-updating, this plugin provides a clean interface to manage these restrictions.

Features

  • Selective Plugin Disable: Choose exactly which plugins should have their updates disabled.
  • core Update Management: Toggle WordPress core update checks on or off.
  • Simple UI: Easy-to-use settings page integrated into the WordPress admin.
  • Lightweight: Minimum performance impact, using native WordPress filters.

Installation

  1. Upload the disable-updates-manager folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
  3. Navigate to Settings > Disable Plugin Updates to configure your update preferences.

How it Works

The plugin uses the following WordPress hooks to intercept update requests:

  • site_transient_update_plugins: Filters the list of available plugin updates.
  • pre_site_transient_update_plugins: Blocks update checks before they are stored.
  • pre_site_transient_update_core: Filters WordPress core update checks.
