A professional WordPress plugin for generating AI prompts, built with React, Vite, and Tailwind CSS.

🚀 Installation & Build Instructions

This plugin requires a build step for the React frontend before it can be used.

1. Prerequisites

  • Node.js (v16+)
  • NPM or Yarn

2. Build the React App

Navigate to the plugin directory in your terminal:

cd wp-content/plugins/ai-prompt-generator-pro

Install dependencies:

npm install

Build the production bundle:

npm run build

This will create a build/ directory containing the compiled JavaScript and CSS assets.

3. Activate Plugin

  1. Go to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Plugins.
  3. Activate AI Prompt Generator Pro.

4. Usage

Add the following shortcode to any page or post:

[prompt_generator]

5. Settings

Go to Settings > AI Prompt Generator to configure your API key (optional, for future extensions).

📂 Development

To work on the React app with hot module replacement (HMR):

  1. Run npm run dev
  2. Note: The WordPress PHP plugin expects the build/ folder. For true HMR within WordPress, you would need to adjust the enqueue logic to point to the Vite dev server (http://localhost:5173) when WP_DEBUG is true, but for this release, we use the build strategy.
