This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/alex27021993/acf-author-fields/archive/refs/heads/main.zip
No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Outputs ACF custom fields from the “Author” custom post type into WordPress blog posts built with Elementor.
Works with an ACF Relationship/Post Object field on the post (e.g., author_ref) and exposes lightweight shortcodes to pull any author field (text/URL, Link, Image, Gallery, Repeater, Relationship, Taxonomy, Date, etc.).

✨ Features

  • Pull any ACF field from the linked “Author” CPT into a post.
  • Dedicated shortcodes for:
    • Author title (with optional link)
    • Author permalink
    • Universal field renderer (auto-detects field types)

📦 Installation

  1. Create a folder:
    /wp-content/plugins/ba-acf-author-fields/
  2. Create a file inside it:
    ba-acf-author-fields.php
  3. Paste the plugin code (from your repo).
  4. Activate in WP Admin → Plugins.

Prerequisites:

  • WordPress 5.8+
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
  • (Optional) Elementor / Elementor Pro

🧩 ACF & CPT Setup

  • CPT: Author (e.g., slug author).
  • In Posts (standard post type), create an ACF field (Relationship or Post Object) that links to Author.
    Recommended meta key: author_ref (Return Format: Post ID, though the plugin normalizes both).
  • In Author CPT, create your fields, e.g.:
    • linkedin (URL), twitter (URL), dosvid (Text/Number), foto_avtora (Image), etc.
