A WooCommerce extension that enables store administrators to upload and deliver custom digital files to customers after an order is completed.

Description

This plugin provides a simple yet powerful solution for stores that need to attach and deliver custom files on a per-order basis. Unlike standard WooCommerce downloadable products, which are tied to a specific product, this plugin allows you to upload files directly to an individual order.

This is ideal for businesses that provide personalized services or custom products, such as:

  • Design services: Delivering custom logos, graphics, or design mockups.
  • Consulting: Providing personalized reports, documents, or presentations.
  • Custom development: Sending software patches, code snippets, or plugins.
  • Personalized goods: Attaching a digital certificate of authenticity or a custom thank-you note.

Once an order is marked as "Completed," the customer can access and download their files from the standard "Downloads" section of their "My Account" page.

Features

  • Per-Order File Uploads: Attach one or more files directly to any WooCommerce order.
  • Seamless Admin UI: A new "Deliverable Files" section is added directly to the WooCommerce order details page for easy management.
  • Secure File Storage: Files are stored in WooCommerce's secure download directory.
  • Download Controls: For each file, you can set:
    • A custom File Name for the customer.
    • A Download Limit to control how many times a customer can download the file.
    • A Download Expiry (in days) after which the link will no longer work.
  • Customer-Friendly Access: Customers find their files in the familiar "My Account" > "Downloads" section alongside any other downloadable products.
  • HPOS Compatible: Works with both the classic post-based and modern High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) WooCommerce setups.

  2. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  3. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  4. Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page.

How to Use

Store Admin Guide

The entire process is managed from the individual WooCommerce order page.

Adding a New File

  1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Orders and open the order you wish to add a file to.
  2. On the order details page, scroll down to the Deliverable Files metabox.
  3. Fill in the details for the new file:
    • File Name (Optional): This is the name the customer will see. If left blank, the actual filename will be used.
    • Choose file: Click to select the file from your computer.
    • Download limit (Optional): Enter a number to limit how many times the customer can download the file. Leave blank for unlimited downloads.
    • Download expiry (Optional): Enter the number of days the download link should be active for. Leave blank for no expiration.
  4. Click the Add File button. The file will be uploaded, and the file list below will update.

Editing a File

  1. In the Deliverable Files list, find the file you wish to modify.
  2. Click the Edit button on the right-hand side.
  3. The view will switch to an edit mode where you can change the File Name, Download Limit, and Download Expiry.

Customer Experience

Customers can download their files once the order status is set to Completed.

  1. The customer logs into their account on your store.
  2. They navigate to the My Account page.
  3. They click on the Downloads section.
  4. All deliverable files for their completed orders will be listed here, along with any standard downloadable products they have purchased. They can see the file name, download link, remaining downloads, and expiry date.
  5. A direct download link(s) for all deliverable files will also get appended to WooCommerce 'Order Completed' email notification once the order is marked as 'Completed'.
