Classic Editor Modernized
A modernized rewrite of the classic WordPress editor — choose the classic editor or the block editor as the site-wide default, per user, or per post.
What this plugin does
Classic Editor Modernized lets you pick which editor opens when someone edits a post on your WordPress site. You can set a single default for everyone, let each user pick their own, or let each post remember the editor it was last opened in. On sites with multiple networks, the network administrator can choose one default for every site or let each site pick its own.
This plugin is the modernized version of the original "Classic Editor" plugin that the WordPress team retired. It does the same job but is built fresh, with a cleaner setup and a handful of small improvements.
What you get
- One editor for everyone. Pick the classic or block editor as the default for your whole site from Settings → Writing.
- Let each person pick. If you turn on Allow users to switch editors in settings, every user can choose their own default on their profile page.
- Remember the last editor for each post. Turn this on and each post will reopen in whichever editor was used last. You can still switch a
